A Haiku

The life I lead
hopeful, grateful
Never wish that you weren't born.

EDIT: I just discovered that this isn't haiku. In fact, I don't really know what it is; perhaps I've invented a new form of poetry?

:-) Wow, I like it. "Hopeful, grateful"...How many problems in the world would be solved with those two attributes?

Authored by...yourself?

I am in no ways an expert on poetry, but those three lines do go nicely together :)

I know poems aren't meant to be explained, but could you please make clear your meaning of the last line? I can think of several ways of interpreting it in context, all of which put a different spin on the poem.

Haha, yeah so can I

NotMyOwn: Yes, I wrote it while on the train. :-) It's my first attempt at a haiku.

Briar: Hmm, I'll try. It's sort of a statement of how I feel about my life sometimes, and through that, I was also exhorting others not to despise the lives they have as well.

Sounds like it could be part of a song, maybe. One of those ones where the lyrics are for about a feeling rather than a story.

Well I like it - haiku or no haiku. :-P
